I am passionate about everything that holds a special place in my life be it my venture, consumer experience, four legged angels such as the various cats and humble canines we adore – or – the amazing people that surround me. Passion is about infusing energy that multiplies for the greater good of our surroundings.
Passion is the sole reason we created Soulflower, a cult brand.
I believe every person is passionate about one thing or another. That’s the first question I ask my students who join the Soulflower Leadership Program. What is your passion? Some know their passion, others discover it in due course of the program. Our young entrepreneurs, future leaders of tomorrow, have great potential. They are young, raw, fearless, determined to learn.
The enthusiasm of our young entrepreneurs is infectious, and well suited for the work culture we follow.
Our young leaders are willing to take risks and learn from mistakes and I am there to guide them along the way.
I want them to enjoy their work, dabble in different fields, learn and eventually lead! I have been running this internship program for a couple of years now and it’s a great feeling interacting with students through the program. They come in with expectations, hopes, dreams and I make sure I can do my best to steer them, groom them and inspire them to dream big. Even after the completion of the program, my doors are always open for my students. They keep in touch and do visit me for career advice or just a chat! There’s a saying you lead by example and that is exactly what I want to do. I practice what I preach, I set goals: both long term as well as short term and I want them to do the same. Set goals for them, time bound goals and be focused in achieving these goals.
Whenever I assign them a task, I give them full freedom of resources, I trust them in their plans.
My team is their team, my clients are their clients. I give them a sense of ownership and they are not a mere spectator to things but creators of beautiful, interesting concepts! They have potential and I trust that they will deliver much more than what is expected of them.
At Soulflower, we believe that the same boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It’s about what you’re made of, not the circumstances.
At the end of the program, I ask them to share their experience. I am curious to know what they felt about the program and of course, me too! Most of them tell me how different and eventful this experience has been for them. They get to experience the practical side of whatever they learn in their institutes. Which is great! I want them to learn something new, implement their ideas and thoughts, not be afraid of failure. I too learn a lot from them.
I started off my entrepreneur venture young, I have had my share of hardships but I never gave up on the things I believed in. If there‘s a message I want to convey to young entrepreneurs, it would be:Find YOUR Dream!
A dream is something money can’t buy. It pushes you to your limits but you enjoy it! And your dream takes you places with your near and dear ones. So to all the people out there: What’s Your Dream? If you don’t have an answer, find it! Life would be a lot worthwhile!
